TIP: If your smoothie is thicker than you like, add some milk, and blend to consistency.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie Tips

Frozen strawberries – to avoid ending up with a very thick texture, don’t use all frozen fruit. But in case you only have frozen strawberries, then I would advise you to let them thaw before making this smoothie.

Fresh bananas – while I use frozen bananas in this recipe, you can still use fresh bananas and add ice to achieve a creamy, smooth consistency. But it would be great if you opt for frozen bananas so you can get a tastier smoothie!

Ice – since we are already using frozen fruit, there is no point in adding ice. This way, you’ll avoid ending up with a super thick texture. However, if your smoothie is too thin, you can add some ice to achieve your desired consistency.

Sugar – please don’t add sugar! We already have strawberries and bananas in this smoothie, that’s already sweet! One of the points of having this smoothie is to enjoy the benefits of a healthy treat made with all fresh, natural ingredients!

Milk – while I made my smoothie with dairy (cow’s) milk, any type of milk will work for this recipe. So you can use almond milk, soy milk, cashew milk, or oat milk to mention just but a few!

Vanilla – you can add in ½ a teaspoon of vanilla for an extra flavor.

Health Benefits of Strawberry Banana Smoothie

A strawberry banana smoothie is healthy for you since strawberries are rich in vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. According to WebMD, strawberries are among the top 20 most antioxidant-rich fruits. The amazing fruits are also a good source of manganese and potassium.

TIP: I always advise buying organic strawberries and any other fruit for that matter. Non-organic strawberries often test positive for pesticides and this isn’t something good for your health. As such, buy the frozen organic strawberries for your smoothies.

Bananas are a good source of magnesium, potassium, and fiber. According to WebMD, an average size banana will give you 3 grams of fiber. What’s more, unlike in the case of refined sugars, our bodies digest the sugar in bananas slowly, something that gives us lasting energy.
